BunnyPuddle Games: Because Water Sims Are Fun

Around 2010 I shipped a couple of Android games as a one person team named BunnyPuddle Games.

Around 2010, the same year I moved from Bing to PrecisionDemand, I published a couple of Android games under the name BunnyPuddle Games. The developer link is still sitting in the header of the portfolio site, next to LinkedIn and GitHub, wedged in with everything else I’d shipped.

Zen Puddle#

The one I remember best is a water simulation. You dragged your finger across the screen and it rippled like real water: refraction, reflection, a slider to trade quality for performance, your choice of ten backgrounds to run the water over.

There was no product reason for it. I built it because getting water to look and move like water is a genuinely fun problem, and nobody was asking me to solve it.

Zen Tunnel#

The other one shipped under the same name and isn’t about water at all: a first-person tunnel flight where you tilt the phone to steer and tap to shoot down the robots chasing you. Same studio name, same “because it sounded fun” energy, different itch.

Both games shipped. I don’t remember much beyond that: no launch story, no download numbers I still have access to, no grand plan. It was 2010, I wanted to make something with water in it, and then I wanted to make something with a tunnel in it, so I did.
